Younger Days
As my mind dances back to what once wasI think of the way it all should have been
I dream of being born as a prince on a foreign shore
Perhaps even royalty in the house of Bangalore
Or even king Arthur's son in Camelot
Of bright summers days and 100 year old walnut trees
Of old untended cherry orchards, and transplanted
English gardens in the rain
And a sense off loss for what is not the same,
Of a beautiful love lost in the past, and a sense of regret that outlasts
If only I knew what I know now
My life would have a sense of purpose some how
As the stormy winters of my past, show the beauty and the pain of what has gone
My learned life learns on and on
