You Are My Destiny

You came into our lives, what a wonderful thing.
You give us so much joy and happiness, and we've done nothing but gain.

Though you grew not in my womb, and I did not feel you kick, you did grow.
In my heart, and we are so blessed to have been picked.

Your first mother loves you dearly and she gave the gift of life, then she
intrusted me with you is what she felt she had to do.

Everyday I do thank God for women such as she, for it was her love and
unselfishness that made a momma out of me.

This is something I have wanted for such a long long time, just to hold a
baby in my arms and know that she is mine.

Though you have not flesh of my flesh, nor did you get bone of my bone,
when I rock you in my arms to sleep, you surely wouldn't know.

So each time I get your sweet caress and you kiss me on the cheek, my love
grows stronger than the day before; I know I'm lucky to be me.

YOU ARE MY DAUGHTER. YOU ARE MY CHILD. YOU ARE MY DESTINY.
