Some Dreams Will Never Come True

I dream the day will come when excited,
I tell my husband, mother, father, sisters
and grandparents what they like I expected
to hear.

He will be Preston Daniel and she Mallarie Kay
but I fear that choosing these will never allow
me to wake from this dream and face reality,
that which will never be.

For over half a decade I have dreamed and for
what seems a century feared that for every
month for the rest of my life I will be
reminded of a certain failure.

There have been ones who have suggested
that this was God's plan, he must have
something else in mind for me.
Alone at times I attempt to recall what horrendous
act I committed to deserve such pain in life.

With thoughts left empty, still, every night
before I drift to sleep I pray that one day
I will be forgiven for my sins.
