M’Doption Day Dress

Mommy and me go shopping
That's nothing very new
But today will be a special shopping day
For a special dress that's blue
It's a special dress for a special day
My wish is coming true

Mommy, Daddy and me, you see
Will go before a Judge
And he will sign a paper
That makes us all a family
See I was a kid who was different
A hard to love child full of rage
My first few months were rough
A bad start at a tender age
But Mommy and Daddy stood by me
And loved me all the time
And paced the floor with me
All those nights I cried
My foster parents stuck it out
Knowing I just needed to feel loved
Doption Days are special
And I have a special dress
We'll become a special family
And leave God to take care of the rest.
