Most people are the sparkle in a mother’s eye
And I shine in two
Most girl’s get to be daddy’s little princess
And I reign in two hearts
Most people don’t ever wonder if their father knew he had a princess
Or if their mother’s eyes still shine
And I think about that other set
And I wonder, but I know
That I shine in someone’s eyes
And maybe two
And I am daddy’s little girl
And maybe two
If I don’t shine in her eyes anymore
And he doesn’t know I’m out there
I know that I am loved
Because I shone in her eye for long enough
For her to know that another mother’s eyes longed to shine
And a daddy needed to have a little girl
Most people don’t know their mother’s loved them
So much she had to let go
And I do.
